A variety of marine mammals are commonly encountered all year round. Harbour porpoise, common dolphin and grey seals are present in large numbers in the Sound and can be watched from the living room windows.

We have a number of resident otters, whose range includes Port Eisgein, the Point and coast towards Strond. They are often spotted in the kelp at low tide.

Nearby Toe Head has a breeding pair of golden eagles, commonly encountered when ascending the slopes of Cheapabhal. White tailed eagles are an increasingly frequent sighting.
